Lone Oak ISD is excited to welcome students, families, and community members back for another great school year! Join us on Friday, August 7, as we kick off the 2026–2027 school year with two of our favorite annual traditions: Meet the Teacher and Meet the Buffaloes.

Meet the Teacher

Friday, August 7

5:30–7:00 PM | All Campuses

Meet the Teacher is a great opportunity for students and families to get ready for the first day of school by:

• Meeting teachers and campus staff
• Visiting classrooms
• Becoming familiar with campus layouts
• Dropping off school supplies (elementary and middle school students)
• Campus Information

Lone Oak Elementary

• Students will learn their teacher assignment upon arrival.
• School supplies may be dropped off in classrooms.

Lone Oak Middle School

• Students will receive their class schedules during the event.
• School supplies may be dropped off in classrooms.

Lone Oak High School

• Students will receive class schedules and Chromebooks during Meet the Teacher.
• Please bring a backpack to safely transport your Chromebook home.
• Families should park at the student entrance behind Buffalo Stadium
• Schedules will be distributed in the new high school gym.

New to Lone Oak ISD?

New Student Orientations will be held from 5:00–5:30 p.m. prior to Meet the Teacher to help new families become familiar with their campus, meet staff, learn about school procedures, and ask questions before the school year begins.

• Lone Oak Elementary School: All new LOES students and their parents are invited to attend in the LOES Cafeteria. 
• Lone Oak Middle School: Incoming 5th grade students and new-to-the-district middle school students are invited to attend in the LOMS Cafeteria (located in the Administration Building).
• Lone Oak High School: Families new to the district with students in grades 9–12 are invited to attend in the High School Cafeteria.

To provide a welcoming and focused experience for our newest families, only students and parents attending New Student Orientation will be admitted to the buildings prior to 5:30 p.m. Returning families will be welcomed when Meet the Teacher begins at 5:30 p.m.

Meet the Buffaloes

7:00 PM | Buffalo Stadium

Immediately following Meet the Teacher, head over to Buffalo Stadium to help us kick off another exciting year of Buffalo athletics! Meet the Buffaloes is one of our favorite Lone Oak traditions and gives the community an opportunity to celebrate our student-athletes, cheerleaders, band, and mascots as we begin a new school year.
