From Blueprints to Bell Rings

Lone Oak ISD marked an exciting milestone this week as we officially opened the final phase of our bond construction project—our brand new high school addition.

Before the open house, a ribbon cutting was held with staff, administrators, and members of the construction and architecture teams. Superintendent Nate Compton shared a few words, capturing the heart of the moment: “As we cut this ribbon today, we open more than just doors to a facility; we open the next chapter in Lone Oak ISD’s story.” It’s a chapter built on the belief that our students deserve the very best, and one we’re incredibly proud to begin.

The new high school addition includes purposeful, student-centered spaces that will open doors for learning and growth for years to come. With a state-of-the-art health science wing complete with hospital bays, a larger band hall that allows for more movement and breakout groups, and a new gym that will welcome our passionate Buffalo fans and community members, this expansion is built for possibility. These spaces don’t just look great—they give our students opportunities to learn, explore, and lead in ways that match the world they’re stepping into.

Teachers will begin moving into the new facility over the summer, preparing classrooms and hallways for a fresh start in the fall. Students will officially fill the space at the beginning of the 2025–2026 school year, ready to make the most of every square foot.

We’re thankful for every person who played a part in getting us here—from community members who helped identify the needs, to the school board for backing the vision, to the voters who said “yes” to investing in our students. Nights like these remind us what makes Lone Oak so special: a community that shows up, supports one another, and believes in a bright future for our kids.
