LOHS Health Science Partners with TAMU

The Lone Oak ISD Health Science Academy is excited to announce a new partnership with the Texas A&M University Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine’s Rural Medicine Outreach Program!

Through this generous partnership, our students gain access to incredible opportunities like the Rural Med Camp, hosted on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station. This immersive experience introduces students to the world of medicine through hands-on, interactive learning while building strong college and career readiness skills.

Students will work side-by-side with A&M Health faculty and students in the state-of-the-art Simulation (SIM) Lab, practicing real-world medical scenarios that emphasize teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving. In addition, students will participate in workshops focused on college readiness, leadership, and healthcare career pathways, helping them envision a future in the medical field.

We are grateful for the Rural Medicine Program’s guiding belief that “Texas is their campus” and their commitment to empowering rural students—ensuring that opportunity, not geography, defines access to world-class healthcare education.

This partnership is a powerful step forward in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals from Lone Oak ISD!
