Family, friends, and LOISD staff gathered with pride and excitement to support Ja'Corey during his Project SEARCH Signing Day—a special moment marking the beginning of his journey toward independence and meaningful employment. Their encouragement and love set the tone for a bright future ahead!
We are thrilled to announce that Ja'Corey has been accepted into Project SEARCH, a nationally recognized vocational training and job placement program designed to support young adults with disabilities as they transition from high school to adult life. Project SEARCH is hosted by Greenville ISD, which collaborates with surrounding districts, including Lone Oak ISD, to bring this incredible opportunity to more students in the region.
Through this program, Ja'Corey will gain valuable hands-on experience by completing three unique internships at Hunt Regional Medical Center, one of Project SEARCH’s proud partner organizations. His journey will begin with a 3-day orientation camp in late July/early August, introducing him to the hospital setting and helping him prepare for the expectations of the workplace.
Throughout the year, Ja'Corey will rotate through various departments at the medical center to explore different career paths and discover where his interests and strengths align. In addition to on-the-job training, he will attend job skills coaching classes focused on workplace etiquette, interview techniques, resume writing, and essential soft skills that pave the way for long-term success.
Ja'Corey’s ultimate goal is to secure meaningful, competitive employment, and with the support of Quest Employment Services, he will receive dedicated assistance with job searching, applications, and interviews.
Let’s all cheer on Ja'Corey as he embarks on this exciting new chapter. We are so proud of his drive and determination—his future is bright!
