CDL Requirements
Lone Oak ISD is always in need of qualified bus drivers to assist with transporting the students in our district safely to and from school and extracurricular events. If you are interested in driving a bus route or if you are a coach needing to obtain a CDL, you can find all the information you need on what steps you will need to take in obtaining a Commercial Driver's License right here.

Recertification
CDL certifications expire every three years and driver's must complete an 8-hour recertification course prior to expiration in order to keep their CDL certification up-to-date. This course will be completed through the Region 4 Education Service Center. Please follow the steps outlined below to successfully complete the required training:
- Visit the Region 4 website for Driver Training - Bus Driver 8-hour Recertification.
- Click "Register" then "Checkout" and create a new account
- After your account has been created, complete your checkout.
- Driver's will be responsible for payment upon registration.
- Be sure to print a copy of your receipt and submit to LOISD Director of Maintenance and Operations, Wayne Shepherd, for reimbursement.
- Complete all eight modules of the Online Bus Driver Recertification training.
- Provide a copy of the certificate of completion to the transportation department.
- Complete the in-house test
