Substitute Teachers

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute teacher for Lone Oak ISD. You are filling a critical position in our school system by acting as a "guest teacher" on the days that our teachers are not able to be in the classroom.

Please follow the steps below in order to complete the application process. If you have any questions, please contact Human Resource Specialist, Jan DeWitt, at

Step One - Application and Employment Paperwork

All substitute teachers must complete a Substitute Teacher Application through Teacher Job Network (linked above). Along with the application, please complete each of the following documents:

Once these documents have been completed in their entirety, please return to LOISD Human Resources by either emailing or by submitting hard copies to the Administration Building - ATTN: Jan DeWitt.

Please include a copy of the following:

  • Driver's license
  • Social security card
  • GED/HS diploma or college transcripts, if applicable.

Step Two - Virtual Training

We now have virtual training available for our substitute teachers. Once all of the documents listed above have been submitted, please complete the virtual training by reviewing the following documents:

Step Three - Fingerprinting

Once all requested documents have been received, HR will email you with details regarding your fingerprinting appointment.  You will be responsible for the $48.25 fee for fingerprinting. If you have previously been fingerprinted for employment by the Texas Education Agency, please let us know so that we can verify that your information is already in the system. Once results have been received, you will be contacted once more by our HR department with further instructions.

Once your Frontline account is set up, you will have access to additional resources and training videos. We encourage you to explore the app/website and watch all available training videos.
