Nate Compton
In two decades of being an educator, Mr. Compton has worked as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal at Greenville High School and has also served as high school principal, athletic director, director of finance & operations, and deputy superintendent at Lone Oak ISD. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Communications with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from what is now East Texas A&M University, and obtained his Superintendent Certification in 2018 at Sam Houston State University.
"My passion for education goes back to when I was a student. I lost my dad when I was in high school and had so many coaches, teachers, and principals that stepped up for me; both academically and as role models. I know the magnitude of what educators do and what impact they can make on the lives of students. My life has molded me to understand and love kids.
I believe every kid matters, and educating the whole student is the goal. Academics and extracurriculars not only teach our students the tools they need for life, but I want them to be great people when they graduate from Lone Oak ISD. Those things last forever, and that’s what drives us here."
Mr. Compton’s wife, Joelle, is in charge of Business Development at Colonial Lodge Assisted Living & Memory Care in Greenville. They have 3 daughters (Avery, Ella, and Dylan), two sons (Lawson and Barrett) and one grandson (Oakley). Their three youngest kids attend Lone Oak ISD on all three campuses, and one is a 2022 graduate of Lone Oak High School.
